Activity - Mobility Patterns Model

The Mobility pattern on the Activity - Patterns page shows a bar chart with up to 6 categories. Each category represents a location where people indicate where they work in a typical workweek.

Purpose

It gives an indication of the mobility of the interviewed population, and how mobile or sedentary people perceive their work. The ratio between the top and bottom three influences the number of workplace types in the "Place" module.

Compared to other types of utilization methods the self-reported value of how much time people spend at their work-station (typically the first element) corresponds to the average peak utilization.

The mobility patterns model shows the mobility of the interviewed population

The Axis

Horizontal (value) axis: shows the average percentage of work time that is done in that location

Vertical (categorical) axis: shows the locations of where work is done.

Categories

Each category is a work location inside (top 3) or outside (bottom 3) the organization.

The top three categories are activities that are situated in the physical workplace of the population (in-office percentage). The bottom three typically represents the percentage of a workweek that is not spent in the office environment.
