How to restrict Dashboard results to specific entities
When you invite users to the WorkNavigator Dashboard you can choose to restrict the results they can see. This is called "Restricted access". It works as follows:
- Invite a person whose email is included in the People & Attributes file through the use of the User Manager
In the menu select the Restriction Attribute to one of the attributes of the population.
The invited person will only be able to see results from respondents who share this attribute with him.
It does not matter if the invited person responded completely or not.
An example:
Organization "Paddlestars" has Divisions and Departments. Each division has a number of departments. They want the Division leaders to see the results from their own division and their department managers to see their own departments.
Dimitri is a Division Leader. Dennis is a Department manager. The Paddlestars D.I. Manager, navigates to "D.I." tab in the User Manager and clicks on "⋮" ellipsis button to initiate the invitation process.
He enters Dimitri's email address and makes him a 'Viewer' with the "Division" restriction attribute. He clicks the "Send invites" button. He continues with Dennis, but now instead of the "Division" restriction attribute, he selects the "Department" attribute. He could have entered all the Division Leaders in one go and all the Department managers in a separate step.
The system will identify Dimitry as belonging to 'Division D' and only show results for that Division. This includes all the associated attributes, so not only the Division. It only shows departments, teams, functions that occur in Division D. The system will identify Dennis as belonging to "Department Delta', and it will only show results for the people who are in that Department. He can select Division D, but will only see those people in Division D that are part of Department Delta.
