Worksettings
A place or surrounding where some kind of activity can be done effectively. Sometimes this is also called a 'work point' or 'furniture application.'
Reworc uses customizable lists of Worksettings aligned with Key-activities through cognitive complexity and physical interaction or collaboration.
A worksetting is an archetypical 'seat' that supports several behaviors. In SpacePro, worksettings have a usage count, meaning how many of that type are needed, based on the population's behavior.
Reworc uses 14 standard worksettings that are suitable for the following types of behaviors:
Desk - Collaborative Privacy | Activities which are confidential, demand a lot of concentration or include many small meetings |
Desk work - Duo | Semi-concentrated work and collaborative work in small groups |
Desk work - Team | Teamwork ( or Agile work) which may be confidential and demands frequent internal communication |
Desk work - Simple | Activities which demand frequent communication or routine activities which need relatively little concentration |
Desk work - Medium | Activities which demand medium concentration and medium interaction |
Drop-In Focus | Short-term activities which demand concentration or confidentiality |
Collaborative - Booth | Short-term activities which demand collaboration and/or allow impromptu interaction |
Collaborative - Small | Short, informal interaction in smaller groups |
Collaborative - Large | Short, informal interaction in larger groups |
Encounters | Ad hoc, informal meetings, accidental encounters |
Desk - Collaborative Short | Short-term activities which require little concentration and low interaction |
Meeting - Small | Both formal and informal interaction in smaller groups |
Meeting - Large | Suitable for formal interaction in larger groups |
Meeting - Creative | Brainstorming sessions and workshops |
Worksettings Page in the Componse menu
Worksettings are maintained in the Worksetting editor, accessed via the "Compose" menu, Worksettings.
A Worksetting has a Name and a description of what kind of activity the worksetting is suitable for.
It can also be indicated to be "Primary." If it is primary, it should be a worksetting supporting an entire working day of computer work. This setting is used in calculations that should yield specific worksettings per FTE ratio.
The "Σ Activity Behaviors" is the calculated amount of Worksettings based on the activity behaviors inside the current spaceprogram. This takes into account the group's sizes and mobility factors.
The "# of Generators" column shows how many generators take this Worksetting as input.
The "Worksetting output" column shows how much "Workplace counts" are calculated by the associated generators.
Worksettings in the behavior matrix editor
Inside the "Behaviors" editor, the Worksettings connected to each level of complexity and collaboration are displayed for each Activity. These can be re-arranged by dragging and dropping Worksettings to each location in the behavior grid. The number in the bottom right corner is the number of hours the respondents provided in the Digital Interview workstyle assessment, expressed as Full-Time Equivalents. This number is not affected by the FTE size or mobility adjustments; it shows the measured behavior recorded in the WorkNavigator dashboard that fueled this SpaceProgram.
The color grade can be turned on/off using the heatmap button. The color grades are based on all the worksetting FTEs across all the activities.
You can think of these numbers as "in a given week, this is the number of FTEs that this level of collaboration/complexity occurs for this activity."
